California State Fair is the annual state fair that takes place in Northern California in the USA. Dating back to the 1850s, the yearly celebration welcomes thousands of locals and visitors to a showcase of performances, music, exhibitions, competitions, tastings and more. The international award-winning fair has received top honours at the international association of fairs and expositions, topping more than 1100 fairs worldwide.

The California State Gala is one of the most popular events of the State Fair. The annual event features an elegant evening of gourmet food, auction items, entertainment, awards and more. In addition, to live performances, you can also pre-book farm tours and forest centre tours. The tours give visitors the opportunity to explore and interact with a one-acre forest, functioning greenhouses and more. Other special events include the Military & Veteran Appreciation Day, First Responders Appreciation Day and the Youth Mariachi Competition.
The California State Fair will take place at Cal Expo in Sacramento, California. You can find the event at 1600 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95815, USA.
The nearest major airport is Sacramento International Airport, located approximately 30 minutes from the city centre and 20 minutes from Cal Expo. You can travel directly into the c city from Airport Terminal A on bus 42A.
Cal Expo is easily accessible by both car and public transport. Parking is available at Cal Expo for $10 per day for cars and $5 for motorcycles. You can also park at Papa Murphy’s Park for $15.
Payment can be made on the day and only cash is accepted. Bicycle parking is also available at the Blue Gate, Main Gate and Gate 12. Electric vehicle charging stations are also available. If you are travelling by public transport, you can take bus routes 67 or 68 to Heritage Ln & Exposition Blvd, followed by a short walk to the venue.
There are a number of accommodation options available in the Cal Expo area, as well as throughout the city. The nearest hotel is DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sacramento, located a 15-minute walk from the venue. Other nearby hotels include Courtyard by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo, Fairfield Inn by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo.

Other popular attractions include the Sacramento Zoo, which features a 15-acre animal park housing native and endangered animal species; as well as the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic church. You can also find a number of popular open-air attractions such as the Fairytale Town amusement park and McKinley Park.
