35th Annual Bluesfest: Byron Bay showcasing the best music from around the world!

4 days long, the legendary Byron Bay music festival features 7 stages and over 200 performances from the biggest names in music coming to Byron Bay, Australia. The Bluesfest lineup never fails to impress.

Past lineups have included acts such as Bob Dylan, Hozier, Paul Simon, Gary Clark Jr., Angus & Julia Stone, Robert Plant, Alabama Shakes, John Mayer, Jurassic 5, James Brown, Zac Brown Band, Joss Stone, David Gray, Trombone Shorty, Angelique Kidjo, John Legend & BB King. With such an excellent track record of inviting an eclectic and excellent variety of acts, there’s no doubt that Bluesfest 2024 will be unmissable.

Bluesfest is located just 10 minutes drive north of Byron Bay, NSW at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm. Camp at the festival or stay close by in Byron Bay or Brunswick Heads and take the shuttle bus to the 120-hectare festival venue.

Bluesfest 2024 Tickets

Adult tickets are available for 1-day or 4-day festival entry with add-ons for camping, parking and the VIP Lounge. Child and youth tickets are also available for about a third of the price.

Things to do in Byron Bay

In addition to catching the Byron Bay Blues festival, there are plenty of other adventures to experience in the area. If you need a break from the festival or fancy staying a little longer to experience the laid-back lifestyle of Byron Bay.  Our top picks of things to do in and around Byron Bay:

1. Kayak with dolphins – kayaking tours are run twice daily from Main Beach

2. Walk up to the lighthouse for sunrise – the Cape Byron Lighthouse is the most easterly point in Australia and so sees some of the best sunrises on the east coast!

3. Experience a Sunday session at The Beach Hotel – every Sunday locals and travelers alike soak up the sun and a schooner whilst enjoying live music from local bands.

4. Try your hand at surfing- rent a surfboard from one of the local surf shops or take a surf lesson. These run from various beaches in and around Byron Bay.

Where to stay in Byron Bay

Byron Bay has a lot of places to stay but is a small town and with over 100,000 visiting Bluesfest, accommodation books up fast over the festival!

There are a number of hostels such as Nomads, YHA, Aquarius, The Arts Factory and Backpackers Inn, starting from $40AUD per night. Rooms in motels and hotels start from around $150AUD per night. If you get stuck for accommodation look to nearby Brunswick Heads which is also a 10-minute drive from the festival.

If you want to be right at the heart of the action, camping tickets are available now including Tipis, Tent Motels & Glamping.

How to get around Byron

Most things within Byron Bay are within walking distance. However, the festival itself is at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay.

Shuttle bus services are put on for the event from Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Ballina, Bangalow, Mullumbimby, Ocean Shores and Lennox Head.
