Bike Days 2021 has been postponed to August.

Bike Days Solothurn offers development and challenges for all levels of biking enthusiasts along with parties and extreme demonstrations in Solothurn, Switzerland. People from all around the globe gather at Bike Days to participate in competitions, watch experts exhibit how it’s done, and meet like-minded people within the action biking community.

The festival hosts the impressive Proffix Swiss Bike Cup event where there are 6 elite categories all battling it out to get that champion status. World champions are in attendance for the Swiss Cup with demonstrations from the likes of Jolanda Neff, Sina Frei, Nino Schurter, and Anton Cooper.

The cup also makes room for a “fun” category where anyone and everyone can have a go and maybe one day return to compete. The MTB Dirtjump Contest is where freestyle comes into the equation.

This section is what attracts the most daring stunt bikers to the event and is where new tricks and style is created thanks to the best trick contest.

Where to stay in Solothurn

Switzerland is considered a rather classy country which is shown in the standard accommodation options. A majority of the hotels throughout Solothurn come highly rated and offer things like saunas, terrace dining, swimming pools, and modern décor.

If you want to experience something a bit different you could always look at the Solothurn curling tower. This building is the oldest in the city and provides stunning views of the river Aare. A night in this wonky looking tower is like something from a fairy tale.

Things to do in Solothurn

Naturally, the area is popular with cyclists due to its many cycle trails and mounting biking routes. Outdoor activities are endless here and as the river Aare runs through the city there are plenty of water sports activities too.

There are several golf courses to enjoy as well as ziplining, alpaca or llama trekking, squash and badminton facilities, a high rope park, roller skating, and hiking tracks. During the winter you are able to go snowshoeing, downhill skiing, and cross-country skiing.
