Bahidora 2019: Mexico’s Hippest Music Festival

Mexico’s music festival scene is in its infancy, but it continues to grow, nonetheless. The scene is filled with many young events but Bahidora stands out among them; for many, it’s still the country’s best kept secret, and if you know what’s good for you, this is one festival you won’t want to miss.

With appearances from legendary indie and famous musicians and an insane amount of magical experiences to enjoy in the outdoors, Bahidora has carved a niche for itself in the global festival scene. The Art Circuit features eye-popping art installations created by contemporary sculptors, which adds to the magical vibe of the environment. La Interna is a thoughtful space catering to curiosities of all kinds, where performances, films, and discussions on a wide variety of topics from magic to entrepreneurship take place. Transform yourself at Isla B, a rejuvenating area where you can take a break from nonstop dancing to enjoy silence and healing, yoga and meditation, cleansing and ceremonies. And considering that the event is held right on the banks of the Las Estacas river, vibrant nature will be all around for you to enjoy. There will be plenty of opportunities to swim, kayak, and even have a massage in between concerts. Food trucks and bars abound to give you delicious fuel for three days of debauchery far, far away from reality.

Where to view Bahidora

Bahidora is set within the Las Estacas Natural Park, Morelos; one of the most beautiful and underrated destinations in Mexico. The natural water park and springs make up part of the Sierra de Montenegro state ecological reserve, and flows into the Yautepec River.

Las Estacas Natural Park is located at Km 6.5 of the Tlaltizpan-Cuautla highway, Col. Bonifacio Garcia, Mexico.

How to get around Las Estacas

The entire festival grounds are in a compact location; everything will be within easy walking distance. If you are bringing a car, ride sharing is encouraged to reduce your carbon footprint. Event organizers have partnered with transportation providers for attendees who need to go to and from other locations nearby.

Where to stay for Bhidora Carnival

Attendees may opt to camp or stay at a hotel during the event. Hotel Bahidora is the official lodging partner of the event, a unique accommodation whose architecture dates back to the 16^th century. It’s located just 30 minutes away from the festival venue.

If you feel like spending time in the magical lands of Bahidora, why not go camping with your friends? Two and four-person pre-assembled tents will be available at affordable rates, just bring your own sleeping bag and blankets. Keep in mind that you’ll need a General Access ticket to get into the camp site.

Things to do in Las Estacas

After you’ve immersed yourself in the idyllic wonderland that is Las Estacas, head over to Mexico City just 90 minutes away. Soak in the historic sites, galleries, parks, and of course, cantinas so that you can get your fill of authentic Mexican food. Knock back tequila and margaritas while you dance the night away at Mexico City’s many terrific watering holes.
