Backwoods Music Festival: Arkansas’s Hippest Music & Arts Festival

The Backwoods Music Festival in Arkansas is a one-of-a-kind outdoor music experience filled with eye-popping art and live installations and jaw-dropped performances set in the incredible outdoors of the Mulberry Mountain. What started as a humble non-profit festival back in 2008 in the woods is now the biggest music event in Arkansas. 

If you’ve ever wanted to experience what it feels like to party the woods for three days while the outdoors comes alive with insane art, the Backwoods Music Festival is highly recommended.

While music is the focus, self-expression, creativity, and art are all highly encouraged so feel free to come as you are – costume, outfit, and more. Raise your vibration between concerts by immersing in the sacred healing workshops and inspiring activities such as flow arts, yoga, guided meditations, and sound therapy. The wilderness of Mulberry Mountain makes this event the perfect opportunity to commune with nature, so don’t be afraid to get down and dirty even if this means getting some mud on your feet while dancing in rain. Believe us, you’ll be having too much fun to care, anyway! This event has been renowned for attracting not just discerning music enthusiasts but lovers of nature and art as well. Where to view the Backwoods Music Festival in Arkansas

The event will be held at Mulberry Mountain Lodging and Events, 4117 Mulberry Mountain Loop, Ozark, Arkansas.

Multi-day and day passes will be available for the festival, although day passes won’t be inclusive of camping. There is no age limit for attending the festival, although adult content may be seen at some of the shows, which may not be suitable for kids. Children below the age of 12 will be permitted free entry, while those aged 13 and up will require a ticket. All attendees below the age of 17 should be accompanied by a guardian or parent over 18.

Attendees are also encouraged to make a donation, which benefits the Make a Difference Foundation.

How to get around Ozark

Most festival attendees over the years have chosen to camp or park their RV within the designated premises for convenience. Doing so saves you time and money in gas and commuting back and forth, and all amenities within the site are within walking distance. Be sure to check out the festival map for 2019.

Where to stay for Backwoods Music Festival

Camping is a huge element of the Backwoods Music Festival experience; another alternative is to sleep in an RV or camper van. RV or camper vans are defined as vehicles that are larger than 16-passenger vans. For the purpose of the festival, towable trailers, buses, pop-ups, and campers will also be considered as either an RV or a camper. A general store selling basic items for comfort will be available although groceries or other large camping supplies may not, so it’s always best to come prepared.

Attendees may choose from General Admission camping, as well as Upgraded VIP Campsites.

There are also nearby hotels and Airbnb’s in and around Stroud and the nearby towns.

Nature enthusiasts won’t be running out of activities to enjoy in and around Mulberry Mountain. Rivers, hiking trails, ATV trails, horse activities, canoeing, waterfall tours, fishing, hunting, and much more await you. Recharge with ice-cold beers in charming resto-bars located around Lake Ozark, and perhaps make a new friend or two!
