Airforce Festival 2019: Destined to Diverge

Airforce Festival is an annual music festival that takes place in the eastern city of Enschede in the Netherlands. Taking place on the epic Twente Military Airbase, ‘the hardest festival from the East’ welcomes hard dance lovers to a legendary event where all genres become one.

This year’s edition of Airforce Festival will combine all spectrums of the hard dance genre into one, to create the epic Airforce All Stars main stage. Hosted three new hostings of SUPERBASH, BKJN and PRSPCT XTRM, the event is sure to enforce a revelation. The Airforce All-Stars will consist of Angerfist, Radical Redemption, Warface, Partyraiser, Paul Elstak, Dr. Peacock, Sefa, D-Sturb, Frequencerz, Sub Zero Project, The Darkraver, Denekamps Gespuis, Killshot and Mental Theo.

Representing hardcore, uptempo and terror at the Unity stage will be the likes of Miss K8, Korsakoff, N-Vitral, Nosferatu and more. The Superbash stage will host the best of hardstyle and raw style from D-Block & S-te-Fan, Digital Punk, Hard Driver, Devin Wild, Keltek and more. Drs, Angernoizer, Cryogenic and Billx are among many names who will represent uptempo, Frenchcore and terror; and Thrasher, Sei2ure, Dolphin, Detest and more will perform on the Industrial  PRSPCT XTRM stage. Finally, the rooftop stage will welcome the freestyle and early millennial styles of Re-Style, Bass-D, Dr Phunk, Ruthless and more.

How to get around Enschede

Located on the border of the Netherlands and Germany, the town of Enschede can be reached by plane or ground transportation. The nearest major airports are Dusseldorf International Airport (approximately 90 minutes away) and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (approximately 120 minutes away). You can also take direct trains or buses from nearby major cities. The festival grounds are easily accessible by both car and public transport. If you are driving tot he event, you can follow Oosterstraat towards Laaressingel, followed by  Schouwinkstraat and Oldenzaalsestraatweg. From there, you can follow the signs to the festival car park. Parking tickets are available and can be purchased in advance for 15 euros to ensure minimal wait times.

If you are travelling by public transport, you can take the train to Enschede train station; where festival shuttles will transfer visitors between the station and the festival grounds. Round trip shuttle tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the shuttle stop for 10 euros. A range of organised travel packages is also available from most major cities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and more. 

Where to stay for Airforce Festival

Airforce Festival welcomes visitors to ‘BASECAMP’, the most dedicated campsite in the east. The new base was created for those who can’t get enough of Airforce and will feature a massive pre-party, afterparties and ‘badass activities’. Visitors can bring their own tent and camping supplies or sleep in style in one of the pre-pitched tent options. Tents include the ‘Army Style’ Festipi, for up to two people, the ‘Army Tent US1’, for up to 10 people and the ‘Army Tent US2’ for up to 20 people. The campgrounds are fully equipped with fresh and free sanitary facilities, pump services, lockers, electricity, a mini supermarket and BBQ areas.

Things to do in Enschede

The city of Enschede offers a range of things to see and do. One of the most popular attractions is Attractiepark de Waarbeek, an amusement park with fairground rides, shows, entertainment, dining options and more.

The city also features a number of historical attractions, such as Kasteel Twickel, a 16th-century private castle with elaborate gardens; and Rijksmuseum Twenthe, a monastic-style building and art gallery.
