Affection Outdoor Festival 2019: Germany’s Newest Harder Styles Festival

Affection Outdoor Festival is Germany’s newest outdoor festival dedicated to the harder styles. Hosted by Germany’s hardest Halloween celebration Pumpkin, the two-day event will welcome more than 70 of the hardest and fastest acts.

Affection Outdoor will feature a wide variety of hardstyle, hardcore, uptempo and raw style artists across three stages. Headlining the event on the main stage will be the biggest and best hardstyle acts, including Headhunterz, Brennan Heart, Noisecontrollers, Da Tweekaz, D-Block & S-te-Fan, Frontliner and many more. Representing hardcore will be the likes of Angerfist, N-Vitral, Destructive Tendencies, Korsakoff, GPF and Deadly Guns. Finally, the raw style stage will welcome Digital Punk, Deetox, Rebelion, Killshot, Act of Rage, Radical Redemption and many more.

How to get around Hunxe

The festival is easily accessible by both car and public transport. The nearest major airport is Dusseldorf International Airport, located approximately 40 minutes south of Hunxe. Car rental facilities are available throughout the airport for affordable and flexible transport options. If you are driving to the event, you can take motorway A3 until exit no.8 Dinslaken Nord, towards Kirchhellen and follow the signs for parking. You can also travel to the festival via public transport, taking the train to HBF Oberhausen; where free regular shuttles will transfer visitors between the station and festival site. If you are travelling from beyond the region, you can book an official travel package, which includes round-trip coach transportation from most major cities around Germany. 

Where to stay for Affection Outdoor Festival

Affection Outdoor Festival features an official campground, which will be open from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. You can enter the campground from 6 pm Thursday and enter and leave the campground at any time. A camping ticket must be purchased in addition to a weekend ticket. You can bring your own tent and camping supplies or book a pre-setup festitent. 

A number of hotel and Airbnb options are also available nearby. Recommended hotels include B&B Hotel Oberhausen am Centro, Holiday Inn Express Oberhausen and Hotel Resident Oberhausen. If you are staying off-site, it is recommended to stay in the city centre of Oberhausen, for easy access to the free festival shuttles. You can explore all the nearby accommodation options below. 

Things to do in Hunxe

The town of Hunxe does not feature many attractions or sights. If you are staying off-site in Oberhausen, you can find a number of things to see and do. The city features a number of popular attractions such as the Gasometer, a museum inside a former industrial gas tank.

Another popular attraction is the Legoland Discovery Centre; featuring lego theme rides, activities, a 4D cinema and more. The city also features a number of popular outdoor attractions such as Halde Haniel, an amphitheatre and outdoor recreational area, and Aquapark Oberhausen, an indoor and outdoor water park with sports pools, sunbathing lawns, water slides and more.
