Boston Calling Music Festival: Celebrating 10 Years

Kicking off its 10th-anniversary edition in 2019, Boston Calling returns to the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Massachusetts this Memorial Day Weekend. The festival features a range of popular musical acts ranging from electronic headliners to live performances, singers, bands and more. More than 50 bands will perform across three outdoor stages as well as an indoor arena. The festival also features the best food in Boston, with more than 30 all-star local food and beverage vendors; as well as a 100 foot Ferris wheel, art installations, life-sized games, exciting partnership activations and so much more.

The Music

This year’s lineup of musical talent features some of the biggest names in the world, alongside local and up-and-coming talent, live performances and more. Popular American duo Twenty One Pilots will headline the first day of the festival, alongside the likes of Churches, Mura Masa, Christine and the Queens and more.

Day two will be headlined by the Australian psychedelic music project Tame Impala, who will perform alongside renowned names such as Odesza, Hozier, Big Red Machine and more. American rapper Travis Scott will headline the final day of the festival, sharing the stage with the likes of Check Wes, Brandi Carlile, Logic and more.

The Arena

The Arena is the most intimate performance space at Boston Calling. Featuring a range of musical performances, comedy, DJ sets and more, The Arena should not be missed! Arena space is limited and admission is on a first come first serve basis; with the exception of those with a guaranteed admission arena wristband. 1000 guaranteed admission wristbands will be available at the arena entrance each day. 

On Friday, the Arena will welcome Fred Armisen, Yaeji and Sam Jay to the unique space, alongside Naeem, Lamont Price and DJ Frank White. Saturday will see Jenny Slate and Snakehips headline the Arena stage; sharing the stage with Imogen Heap, the Boston Ballet, Dessa, Marina Franklin, Lamont Price and an exclusive DJ set from Naeem. The final day will showcase Michael Che and Chromeo who will perform a special DJ Set. Imogen Heap, the Boston Ballet, Kilo Kish, Melissa Villaseñor, Lamont Price and DJ Joshua Carl will also perform at The Arena on the final day.

Eat. Drink. Play

More than 30 all-star food vendors, local and international brews, wines, seltzers and more can also be found at Boston Calling. Carefully curated platinum menus prepared by Boston’s most prestigious chefs will give your tastebuds an experience like no other. You can find 15 of the best local food trucks and vendors throughout the event; including Tasty Burgers – the official burger of Boston Calling. Other popular choices include Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Trolley Dogs handmade all beef dogs & fries and the famous Arancini Bros. handmade risotto balls. The majority of vendors also feature vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options; including Fomu; premium plant-based ice cream. 

A wide range of beverages will also be available, ranging from everyone’s favourite Red Bull and beer vendors to pinot, ales, lagers and more, as well as cold brewed coffee and fresh tea. Make sure to check out Barefoot and taste the Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and wine spritzers; before stopping at Samuel Adams for a taste of Summer Ale, Ne Ipa, ’76 and authentic Boston Lager.

Boston Calling Tickets

Tickets are available in a range of tiers and payment plans are available. General Admission passes provide access to more than 50 bands across all outdoor music stages; as well as the arena performances. GA ticket holders also have access to more than 30 food and beverage vendors, all attractions, sponsored exhibits and more. The event is open to all ages and children under 10 can attend for free. 

VIP passes provide entry into the festival’s exclusive VIP viewing areas at the outdoor stages, unlimited access to the exclusive VIP lounge and fast-tracked entry into the festival. VIP lounges also feature an extensive beverage menu, phone charging stations, comfortable lounge furniture, a shaded pavilion and air-conditioned restrooms. All general admission perks are also included in the VIP ticket. 

For the ultimate Boston Calling experience, Platinum passes are available; including all VIP amenities and more. Platinum pass holders will also have access to a private, elevated viewing platform, a premium hospitality experience with a complimentary lunch buffet and chef-curated evening meal each day, access to a full, specially priced bar and more. Platinum pass holders also have guaranteed admission for all Arena performances, as well as complimentary on-site parking.
